So to try and figure it out, I thought I'd start one. I've always liked the idea of keeping a diary, but always been terrible at keeping them up to date. If I managed one note in a new diary, I was doing well.
So I get the keeping of a journal, with private thoughts, but I don't understand publishing it.
Now, I understand people wanted to publish their opinions, but with opinion being like arse-holes, assuming one day everyone has a blog (I've got one and I don't get them) then aren't they just going to be a lot of noise? How are you meant to find something interesting or useful amongst the millions of blogs being published?
So with that in mind, I'm going to aim my blog squarely at one person, me. I've talked about doing a video pod cast, because I can see them being the next big thing. So many phones have cameras on, mostly little ones with really small images, not good for much, but perfect for a video podcast.
If anyone is reading this, (Oh God, why are you here?) then you'll be glad to know I have a clear idea what my vidcast will be about (I just made the term vidcast up, it's mine and people now have to pay to use it). My vidcast will be about Anglo-French relations. I'd like to say this is because of all the celebrations of Nelson and the battle of Trafalgar going on at the moment, those same celebrations have prompted this on the bbc website.
However, my reason for choosing this topic is because I have a French girlfriend, whom I love dearly, and while we get a long very well, we're more than aware that the stereotypes, each country has about the other, are far from positive. Now I'm don't think this vidcast will change that, but I like the idea of exploring what people think, why they think it and seeing how true or untrue, the stereotypes are.
So that's the plan, watch this space for updates.
